Children, Youth, and a New Kind of Christianity

Brian McLaren, one of the keynote speakers at the 2012 conference, “Children, Youth, and a New Kind of Christianity,” says that this event is “one of the most important conferences of 2012. . . . In my opinion, this is one of the most important – and under-appreciated – issues facing us.” Check out the conference’s website at www.children-youth.com.

  1. I’m heartened by the news of this conference and the article “Where are the children?” in Family and Community Ministries. I’m passionate about the needs of children of the world and the spiritual formation of children in our midst.
I think families are hungry for this as well. The number of children and young families in our congregation has grown partly because we have paid attention to welcoming children and children’s spirituality. I want to learn more, especially about helping children and youth develop a deeply compassionate response to situations of injustice. I’m putting the dates on my calendar.
