Good Advice

My friend, Henry Zonio (elementalcm.com) shared a link to a website that addresses 7 pitfalls to avoid in ministry. It certainly is applicable for children’s ministry as well as many other minitries–preaching, pastoral care, youth ministry, older adult ministry, teaching, research, administration, and more. We can take the 7 things to avoid and flip them around, making them 7 things to cultivate:

  1. Nurture your own faith journey as you walk with others.
  2. Be pastoral and guide those in your ministry.
  3. Be a good friend/partner/parent/guardian/grandparent
  4. Be authentic.
  5. Be the change you wish you see–in the church, your neighbourhood, the world…
  6. Love people.
  7. Be the best you can be
