Time away from technology

Sometimes, it’s just nice toget away for a while. And that’s exactly what I did for the past few days. I went out to my family’s house in the country, cut off from email, facebook, and blogs. And I realized just how much I could get done without being online. The reason I went out to the house wasn’t to take some time off. In fact, it was to immerse myself in my work for a few days. And in 36 hours, I achieved about as much as I normall do in 4 or 5 days.

As a former children’s pastor, I know how busy ministry can make people. But, please, take this advice: every once in a while, just get away. Take a break, cut the Internet cable, turn off the cell phone, and just be.
